Tintorettor Jishu
Last night i watched Tintorettor Jishu, i had missed is when it had come to the movie hall. Got myself the DVD and simply loved it. I think Director Sandip Roy has really worked hard on this film. This is definitely much better than Kailasher Kelenkar & Bombayer Bombaytey. The climax was done perfetly. Jatayu was over the top and i think he should be chucked. Digital Filiming, Dolby Digital Sorround, locations like Hong Kong simply wonderful. Bengali cinema has really come of age. Waitimg for 2010 when the next Feluda will come. Sandip Ray i am waiting. Accoriding to the director the next one may be Jotokando Kathmundu.
It was bit funny to see the chage in technology that is seen in this film. Tintorettor Jishu took nearly 3 years to complete due to budget problem and some issue with the producer regarding shooting in Hong Kong. What you notice carefully is that the Mobile Handsets used by the charecters in the begning of the film are really old Nokia handsets which no longer exists in the market. When the location switches to Hong Kong suddenly you see swanky handsets being used as this portion was shot later. Anyways better late than never.

Bhoo Kattaa
This morning i was kinda feeling sick. Due to my fracture in right foot toe my whole body weight was getting too much for the left foot. Last night it was paining terribly and started swelling. Morning felt bit feverish so i decided to skip office for a change. My niece, nephew and my sis is also suffering for weather change and down with fever. Morning i woke up late and the first thing that i did was to climb to the terrace and looked up in the sky. Todays its Vishwakarma Puja and traditionally in Kolkata people fly kites.
I very well remember that even 10 - 15 years back i could see the morning sky filled with kites. Unfortunately the Promoter Culture ripped apart a basic thing required for this sport that is open sky. My house today is sorrounded 3 side by multi storied buildings making it almost impossible to fly kites. For past few years i had to go to my cousins house to fly kites. It has been a tradition with me to skip what ever work that i have and fly kites on 17th of Sepetember every year.
During noon i was discussing the same with my father and even he was noticing the change. Actually flyimg kites is much more that a sport, its like you are spending money buying Kites, Manjaah & Momtana Shutoo and enjoying cuuting other kites and seeing your own kite get cut while strage people run behing those cut kites to catch them.
I decided that this had to change. It was more like a sense of defiance. I took my bike (with my broken toe) and went to Jarrah's Kite shop in Sham Shul Huda Road. This is the same guy from where my father used to buy kites. I bought Manjaah (500 Meters) for 100 Rupees and 10 Kites for 20 Rupees.
I started flying in the afternoon sun and yes i did manage to cut one. Bhooooooo Kattaaaa the sound from my terrace woke most of my neighbours attention. By evening suprisingly some of my neighbours were seen on the terrace flying kites. This really tured out to be a good Vishwakarkma Puja after many years.
The final count: I have cut 5 Kites, I have lost 5 Kites, 2 Kites got stuck in the appartment in front, 2 got wet from a afternoon drizzle & 1 kite still left. Any one wana dare with me????? I stilll have one left. See you next year till then Bhoooooooo Kattaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Pump up the Air
Added an Aquarium Air Pump. Hope this will keep air circulating enough for the 3 fishes to survive, including the Fighter which was bout to die. It costed me 100 Rupees, i am sure would have got it a bit cheaper somewhere else, but the fish had to be fed oxygen.
Bye bye Goldie
Our 1 week old Gold Fish died yesterday :( bye bye Goldie. The fish bowl i guess was too small for it. On 6th of September my wife got it as a gift from one of her student. There were 2 fishes; Gold Fish and a Fighter. We had to put the fighter in a huge bucket separating it out so that it would survive.

ITIL Foundation - Cracked
Yeahhhh finally i receive my ITIL Foundation Certificate all the way from Netherlands. This afternoon it came to office through TNT. This has been one of my most loved moment. I was eagerly waiting for this to come. Honestly one thing, i really did not like the photographs in the certificate. What on earth are those mountaineers doing in my certificate? It looks more like the certificate you will receive if you climb to the summit of Mt. Everest. It could have been made much better. Hey one more thing i also received my Green Diamond Batch, i am sure i wont be wearing it any where. My next target PMP certification. PMP here i come, but before i do that let me earn some more money.

Broken - Time to limp
Hmmm I have managed to fracture my 5th toe on 1st September 2009. Dont ask me how, the pain was excruciating. Just one bang and the next moment I could see my 5th toe turning to another direction. Tons of ice and Volini Spray could help nothing. I got my self an Xray the next day and got it confirmed, it was indeed a fracture. That same evening i went to the doc and got the toe fixed. The doc took just 2 minutes to re position it in place. Yeah it really did pain. I have some pics 1) Broken 2) Xray 3) After fixing. Now its 1 month of limping.

Time to tune the Strings
Last Saturday 28th March my dream came true. No I did not win a Million $ Lottery but I managed to buy myself an Electric Guitar. It is a Givson Blue Diamond 6 String Solid body (S-S-H). Honestly I am no Carlos Santana so I tried all the tricks in the books to play it like an expert, but I managed to play it decently more like a novice. I am sure in coming months I would be able to play it much better. I already had a pair of huge Speakers so did not buy any Sound Boxes, just connected to the amplifier and its plays decently. I am really excited now and hope to keep this excitement alive for a longer time. By the way don’t get fooled by Givson its is indeed V and not B. This is the Indian version. And I paid Indian Rupees 3,600 (Aprox 67 US $).
Also along with the electric guitar I got ZOOM G1 Guitar Effect Processor. It has more effects in its banks that what is actually required at this level. Managed to get some free patches online and re programmed some of them. It also has an inbuilt Guitar Tuner which is really helpful. The Drum Machine is really a bonus, it really gets you into the groove. I paid Indian Rupees 4,450 (Approx 83 US $).

The Mysterious Case Of The Guitar
Past few days i am bit too excited about getting back to learning Guitar. I had noticed that the existing guitar case was in a real bad shape, so i decided to get a new one for it. This time i wanted it to be bit more special, so i got a special padded guitar case. I purchased it from Reynolds, Mirza Ghalib Street (Kolkata). Usually i always buy my stuffs from Braganza but unfortunately they had run out of padded cover. The only one left was an old damaged one. Sorry my dear uncle from Bragenza this time i had to choose Reynolds.

Electronic Guitar Tuner
Finally I can start learning guitar again. I know its been nearly a decade since I purchased by guitar but still I cant play it well. I am still stuck with the basic lessons. I had really difficult in tuning my guitar which made me loose interest in it. I had to keep rushing to my neighbors house and ask him to tune it for me. Not any more.... her it comes... the one and only Cherub Guitar Mate WST 550G Automatic LED Guitar Tuner. I have again started practicing on my guitar. Thank you Cherub. It did not come that cheap 500 Indian Rupees. In the time of recession this is a lot dear. Now back to guitar...........
